Consulting and Management Advisory Services

CPAs provide a wide range of consulting services to their clients.  Here is a list of some of the unique services I provide:

Business entity choice and formation support is one of the most valuable services I perform for my clients that are starting a business from the ground up.  After discussing the near and long term goals, we match the best form of business entity (C Corporation, Personal Service Corporation, S Corporation, LLC, Sole-Proprietor) that will enable the individual(s) to realize those goals in the safest and most tax efficient way.  I cannot over emphasize the importance of this step and most attorneys do not perform as thorough a service.  This is where many small business owners hit their first real obstacle.  Each type of entity is different and it's not a "one size fits all" situation.  After selecting the best entity type, I provide references to attorneys that will work with us in the actual legal process of business formation.  The selected attorney will prepare the necessary documents that are filed with the proper state(s) as well as the organizational documents that a newly formed business should have.  After the state(s) accepts the various documents, I provide the necessary support that new business owners need such as obtaining a Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN), filing for state(s) tax accounts, filing tax elections, bank selection, payroll needs, and capitalization and financing needs.

Accounting system design and support includes computer hardware and software selection and acquisition based on client needs.  It also involves observation of accounting software installation and on-site training by third party providers.  Other related services include, but are not limited to, general ledger chart of accounts and financial statement design, internal accounting control system design for data entry, system security requirements, and review of system reports with management/owners.

Consulting and advisory services involves helping clients make business decisions relative to areas such as major asset purchases, mergers and acquisitions, budgeting and planning, financing options and acquisition support, third party transaction negotiations, and management coaching.

Staff training, seminars, team building and organizational studies also fall into this area of service.

Consulting services are governed by Statement on Standards For Consulting Services issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants January 1, 1992.

If you are ever faced with making a critical business decision, don't make it alone. Contact me for the advice that is in your best interest and only your best interest.
